We want you to love your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we gladly accept most returns by mail or in-store within 30 days of purchase. See below for exceptions. Return Conditions Returned items must be in original, saleable condition with original tags. Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable. New or gently used cosmetic or fragrance products purchased at Macy’s that do not meet your needs will be accepted for return. Items purchased in a store must be returned to a store. Items purchased online can be returned to a store or by initiating the return online. Items shipped and sold by sellers must be returned by initiating the return online. How to make a return Return to a store: Items purchased in a store must be returned to a store. Items purchased online can be returned by mail or to a store. Bring your original receipt. No receipt? No Problem. We can use the following information to look up your purchase: The credit card used to make the purchase The order number or ship confirmation email The shipping label or packing list The gift registry number We cannot process returns at curbside. Return by mail: Return shipping is free for Star Reward members. For non-members, a $9.99 return shipping fee plus tax where applicable will be deducted from your refund. If you have multiple return labels, return items in separate boxes, and apply the correct return label to each box to ensure you receive your refund without further delays. There is a charge for scheduled return pickup in areas offering the service. What are the Return Shipping Fees? For Star Reward members, return shipping is FREE. We apologize if your item arrived damaged, broken, or defective. We want you to love your purchase and will work with you to replace the item(s) if available or provide a return for a full refund if your item(s) are damaged, broken, or defective upon arrival. If you need assistance with this issue please chat by clicking the Chat link below. You can also return your purchase by mail or in-store. Some items on our site are shipped and sold directly from the sellers. If the damaged item was shipped and sold directly from the seller, you will see the option to “Contact the Seller” on the Order Details page. Contacting the seller will result in a faster resolution, as Macy’s cannot process returns or exchanges for these items. Gift Registry Returns The time limits for gift registry returns are calculated from the event date: If the item was purchased prior to the occasion or event date, items may be exchanged or returned (with receipt) 90 days from the event date If the item was purchased after the occasion or event date, items may be exchanged or returned (with receipt) 90 days from the purchase date How refunds are received You have proof of purchase: If you have your original receipt, the credit card you used to purchase, your return label or packing slip, you will get a refund in the original form of payment It was a gift: If you have a gift receipt, a return label or a bridal registry number, you will get a refund in the form of a store credit You don’t have proof of purchase: You may still be eligible for store credit for the item’s lowest selling price within the last 180 days Store credit may be issued as an EZ Exchange Card (can be used like a Macy’s Gift Card online or in-store) or Merchandise Certificate (can be used in-store only). We will credit your account(s) within 10 business days of receiving your return. It may take several days to post activity to your account. For purchases made with multiple forms of payment, your credit accounts will be refunded the amount originally charged and the remaining amount may be issued in the form of a Macy’s Happy Returns card or a Merchandise Only Certificate mailed to your billing address in approximately 2–4 weeks. Can I return items from a Buy One Get One (BOGO) offer? Yes, but your refund amount for each item will be proportionally reduced. When you purchase items as a Buy One Get One offer, the discount reflecting the price of the lowest-priced item is proportionally applied to each eligible item. If any item is returned, the refund will be equal to the original price of the item reduced by the proportional discounted amount. Here are some examples: Buy One, Get One Free: If your qualifying items are $30 and $20, the discount will be $20 and spread proportionally across both items. The $30 item will be reduced by $12 and the $20 item will be reduced by $8. The original $30 item will result in a refund of $18 and the original $20 item will result in a refund of $12. Buy One, Get One 50% Off: If your qualifying items are $30 and $20, the discount will be $10 and will be spread proportionally across both items. The $30 item will be reduced by $6 and the $20 item will be reduced by $4. The original $30 item will result in a refund of $24 and the original $20 item will result in a refund of $16. How store refunds are credited Once your return is received in store, we will process your credit immediately. If you provide us with an email address, we will email you once your return is received and your credit is processed. Depending on your bank’s processing time, your credit may take a few days to reflect on your account.
